AIDA 3 Pool
Advanced Pool/confined water Freediver:

Prerequisites:
- Be 18 years of age or older (16 or 17 years old with parent or guardian consent)
- Have completed the AIDA2 course or have completed the AIDA2 Crossover Evaluation if crossing over from another freediving agency
- Be able to swim at least 300m (330yds) non-stop or at least 400m (440yds) non-stop with mask, fins and snorkel.
- Sign medical form, liability waiver and FreediveMaui-rules document before course begin.
Requirements:
STA: 2:45 minutes, DYNB 55m (60yds). Theoretical exam-passing score is 75%. Demonstrate the learned skills.

Minimum Confined Water Sessions: 2
Minimum Classroom Sessions (if teaching): 3 (minimum 3 hours total)
Minimum Knowledge Review Session (if self-study): 1 session of min. 90 minutes
Course duration at least over 1 day.
Course content:
The course is intended for students to train skills from previous levels, to develop new skills and understand risks and safety procedures. The new techniques that are introduced are the use of training tables, advanced Frenzel Equalization and Free Immersion. The theory includes: Physiology, equalization, barotrauma, lungs at depth, buoyancy, shallow water blackout, training concepts, Mammalian Dive Response (MDR), decompression sickness, safety, surface intervals and risks.
INSTRUCTOR SUPERVISION:
Active AIDA instructor or higher. With AIDA protocols, we keep the highest standards, safety and quality. Thanks to smaller class sizes, we offer increased opportunities for support should the need arise. There is one active AIDA Pool Instructor (or higher level) for a maximum of 8 students in pool/confined water.
Certification:
AIDA3 certification after passing the requirements for this course.
